CICELY AIKMAN painted the changing world around her studios in Friendship, Maine, and by a canal to the Indian River in Vero Beach, Florida.  Now living and working in Brattleboro, Vermont, she continues to produce light-filled paintings that explore lively color relationships and shapes of plants and animals in seasonal landscapes and interiors. The many galleries and museums featuring her one-woman and group shows have included The Farnsworth Art Museum, Rockland, ME, The University of Maine at Augusta, Green Mountain Gallery, Westbeth Gallery, Artists Gallery, Carl Ashby Gallery, all of New York, and Provincetown Art Association in Massachusetts. She studied at Corcoran School of Fine Arts, the University of Chicago, and the Art Students League. Her oil on canvas “January” was included in WINTER IN MAINE, a book written by Carl Little, published by Down East Books.
