Nancy Glassman's painterly work in watercolor and in oil, focuses on light and the nuances of seasonal change. She celebrates life through shapes and color relationships, and plays with pattern and rythymn, to make order out of chaos. One of Caldbeck's innaugural artists, she has had solo shows here, and at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, The State House, Augusta, ME, the libraries of Belfast and Portland, and has been in group shows throughout the state. Glassman received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, and studied art at the University of Pennsylvania. Her paintings are in many public and private collections, including Colby College, Soviet Peace Committee, Russia, MBNA Foundation, Waldo County Hospital, and Portland High School.
