ALISON RECTOR is a painter and printmaker, making art in her studios in Portland and Monroe, Maine. She has been creating silkscreen prints since 1990, when she moved from Boston to Maine. These intimate prints depict images of rural life in Maine; the series started as “mail art” the artist put in envelopes and sent to her friends around the world. In 2026, a retrospective exhibition “Alison Rector:  Silkscreen Season on a Maine Farm” celebrated 36 years of Rector’s printmaking.

Alison Rector graduated from Brown University. Her work is exhibited in galleries in Maine, and beyond.
